AN INTRODUCTION TO ABILITY BEAMS
Welcome to Ability Beams, where we create therapeutic residential homes for children and young people in the heart of Worcestershire, United Kingdom. Our mission is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children aged 8-17 years old with learning disabilities and Autism. In addition to this we also provide accommodation to children who may also have difficulties with communication, attachment disorders, trauma, aggressive responses to anxiety and behaviours of concerns including self-injurious behaviours.
Our first home, Ashiyana House, is a 3-bedroom semi-detached property which provides 1:1 care and support to 2 children. We pride ourselves on our tried and tested approach to children’s residential care. The support we offer is therapeutic and person centred with the child's best interest at heart. All therapy is overseen by suitably trained and qualified professionals who have in-depth knowledge and experience working alongside children with complex needs and a history of trauma.
OUR THERAPEUTIC APPROACH
Our model of care encompasses a combination of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy) approach and Sensory Attachment Intervention (SAI). Children also have the opportunity to access other therapy modalities such as music, art, drama and or play therapy.

Registered Manager
Over 10 years’ experience in health and social care working predominantly with children and young people. Kimberley was a Register Manager in her previous role. She specialises in care for children with learning disabilities, autism, complex health and behaviours of concern.

Deputy Manager
Savannah brings 10 years of social care experience, working with young adults in residential settings. She is well versed in behavioural analysis, managing complex needs caseloads and delivering behaviour assessments and interventions that promote positive change and independence.

Michael has over 30 years’ experience in complex care settings, including Healthcare, Social Care, and Children's residential care. Michael has held overall leadership, strategic development, performance, and governance responsibilities.
