HOW WE ASSESS REFERRALS

At Ashiyana House there is a robust system in place for referrals and admissions into the home. This ensures this process is planned and risk assessed for the new child and any other children already resident in the home. Part of this process will always involve gathering extensive information from the child’s multi-disciplinary team including their educational setting(s), parent(s), carer(s), friends, advocate and any other persons involved in the child’s care and support. We will make every effort to ensure reasonable adjustments are made to accommodate and meet the needs of any new child but if at any point we feel we are not able to fully meet the needs of a child referred to us we have a duty of care to make this known.

We deal with every referral quickly and with the urgency it deserves to make sure no time is wasted in getting a child the right support.
